High Tide Dry Suits, Inc.
Kevlar® is an amazing fabric that offers the best abrasion resistance currently practical for diving gloves, but many
people who have tried Kevlar® palmed gloves have been disappointed with the stiffness and lack of stretch. The
gloves simply were not very comfortable and it was difficult to move the fingers. On top of that, the palms were fairly
slippery. How often have you had trouble hanging onto your dive camera or grasping a knife or dive light?
So when the designer of our gloves was looking for armored palm material he was especially pleased to find an
improved Taiwan-made knock-off of Kevlar® called Amortex®. Unlike real Kevlar®, Armortex® is softer, has

Many gloves stop their armored palm fabric around the perimeter of
your palm, leaving a seam between the palm and the glove cuff.
This seam is a weak area which often tears out, but High Tide
gloves run the armored palm fabric completely down to the bottom
of the cuff, eliminating that seam and the weak point. We’ve never,
not once, had a pair of our gloves returned to us that have somehow
been torn in that area.
