| This suit is so great that the owner of our company dives one! |
When the owner of High Tide was designing the
line of suits, he ran into a manufacturer who offered
a polypropylene/nylon fabric that could be laminated
onto the outside of a sheet of 5.0 mm compressed
neoprene. This “armor” was not only tough but
much more flexible than other armored exteriors on
the market. Best of all, it dried out faster than
typical heavy nylon-only jerseys. The owner knew
right away that he wanted a special suit made just
for him out of this new material called Seascale®.
And thus the SPECIAL EDITION was born.
Each suit starts when the customer is measured up
and sized for seals, boots, leg and torso length. We
then build them a custom 100 gram fleece jumpsuit
which is soft, warm and wicks away moisture to keep
you feeling dry and toasty. A fleece layering vest is
included for those cold winter dives or just to wear
out on the beach.
Next we lay out a sheet of special 5.0 mm
compressed neoprene with twin layers of titanium
flake foil beneath the nylon to reflect body heat
back inside the suit. Of course the outside features
our special Seascale® armor to minimize barnacles
or sharp objects from damaging the suit. After the
suit is cut to your dimensions, we add wide,
adjustable suspenders, rubberized Kevlar knee pads
and valve ports. We then coat the seams with three
coats of expensive two-part catalytic glue using our
secret “hot melt” technology. We are so convinced
of our superior construction that we guarantee the
seams to stay leak proof for 1000 dives for the
original owner!
Each suit is water-tested and the entire system
comes packaged in a deluxe wet/dry transport bag.
There is even a special hanger to store your suit on
between dives!
